BRIDESMAIDS star Chris O'Dowd has revealed he's on the hunt for Irish identical twins for his new series.
The comic actor has written a new series for Sky One based on his own Roscommon childhood. And he is now looking for a group of young Irish boys to star in it.
"I wrote a show, it's called Moone Boy and we're going to be shooting it at the start of the year. We're going to be shooting in Boyle and in Wicklow and we're going to be shooting from mid January for six or seven weeks," the star said.
The actor, who became a US hit after appearing in the movie Bridesmaids, joked that he was hoping to start a Hollywood career for some more Midlands boys.
"Well that would be the plan, I'm planning to corrupt young men," he joked.
Speaking about the new show, O'Dowd said: "It's essentially me as a 12-year-old boy and set in 1990 and kinda the ins and outs of my family.
"We're looking for a whole group of young fellas to make up my class and whatever at the time. But specifically we are looking for identical twins."
O'Dowd added that he hoped the show would bring an economic boost to his hometown of Boyle but was mostly just looking forward to filming at home.
"Well, hopefully, that was certainly part of my thought process but more than anything I think it's just a great place to shoot so I feel lucky that it's available," he said.
The star of The IT Crowd returned to Boyle, Co Roscommon, recently with a film director and production designer, scouting locations for his latest venture.
