Newlyweds Andrea and Brett seek out a lovenest in Ranelagh
MARRIED life is clearly agreeing with Andrea Corr and her new hubby Brett Desmond, who appeared more loved up than ever as they went house hunting in Ranelagh this weekend.
The power couple, who already own a home in south Dublin and an apartment in London, are said to have spent Friday evening browsing properties in the plush suburb.
The musician has told friends that she and her stockbroker other half, who married last September, are planning to make the capital city their permanent base so she can be near her family.
Andrea explained to pals that they have been planning on moving to Dublin since Christmas and have been househunting for quite some time, but found it difficult to find the right area for them.
"They've been spending a lot of time in Dublin since Christmas and Andrea has been telling everyone to get used to them being around," said an insider.
"Both she and Brett are very close to their respective families and want to invest in a house on the southside.
"They've been checking out different places over the past few weeks but haven't found anywhere yet," they added.
However, speculation is rife that the pair have settled on the busy Dublin 6 spot as they were seen soaking up some of Ranelagh's atmosphere after their evening of house hunting.
The newlyweds were clearly giving the area a test drive as they stopped in to enjoy a couple of quiet drinks in McSorley's pub, which is fast becoming the favourite haunt of some of our best known celebrities.
Dressed down in casual clothes, the loved-up couple were determined to blend in with regular punters as they enjoyed the chilled-out atmosphere in the pub last Friday.
And Andrea, who normally shies away from excessive public appearances, has been taking firm advantage of the capital's social scene since jetting into town and has been seen at a number of high profile events in recent weeks.
Earlier in the week, Andrea stepped out alongside her glamorous mother-in-law Pat Desmond to attend the opening of Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the Gate Theatre.
