Nervous Nadia delighted with anthem
IT may not have been everyone's cup of tea, but Nadia Forde is over the moon with her model performance.
The Dubliner sang the national anthem at the Aviva Stadium for the second time ahead of the Irish soccer team's victory over Latvia last Friday.
Nadia's performances have been met with mixed reaction by online critics who feel she sings the march "too slowly". However, the striking brunette, who is hoping to make it as a singer, said she was delighted with how things turned out.
"It all went well, I was really happy with it," Nadia told the Herald.
Speaking after the match, the 24-year-old admitted that she was more nervous than she had been for her first performance.
The model sang Amhran Na bhFiann for the first time last September ahead of the Ireland/Sweden match.
But she admitted the performance was a "little more daunting" on Friday night, especially as it kicked off the new Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane management era.
"It's weird, I think this time I was a bit more nervous," she said.
Last week, the model told the Herald that she would love to return to the Aviva for more performances.
Nadia is expected to hit LA in the New Year where she is taking part in a reality TV show about attempting to crack America.
And she admitted that talk had already started about returning to sing for Ireland's home games next year before Friday's performance.
"Nothing has been confirmed, but there is every chance I will be back for more," she said. "I would love to do more games, but only time will tell."
