Nancy to sue Sven over memoirs

Nancy Dell'Olio is taking legal action for "breach of confidentiality" over disclosures about her relationship with former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson in his memoir.

The Italian said court agreements had previously been put in place which prevented them from disclosing details of their lives together.

She said her legal team was now involved as a result of the publication last week of the book, Sven: My Story.

She said it was the publication of her own book which led to them splitting up because he was unhappy that she was planning to include him in it.

"He said 'no I will not accept it'," she said. "He was part of my life for ten years, of course he has to be in a book."

Eriksson's book – which Ms Dell'Olio conceded she has not read – says of her: "She demanded constant attention, and I got more and more irritated with her."

Replying to this claim yesterday, she said: Of course I am demanding and of course if the light is not right I say it, or the champagne is not cold enough, but is anybody surprised by this?"

She added: "I just started a legal action against the publishers. The part of legal action is that Sven with his book is in breach of confidential agreements and we had an order signed in a court that we cannot talk about some details that he did."

Ms Dell'Olio said she was surprised by the book's content, adding: "I know he's going through some financial troubles but I was expecting something with more style and elegance."

POSITIVE

She went on: "He was not forced to stay with me for almost ten years. I was definitely in love with him, I do think he was in love with me, and I will stay positive."

Eriksson's publisher, Headline, did not wish to comment.
