Mum-to-be Amanda in crash terror... as Reese is hit by car while jogging
PREGNANT actress Amanda Holden has escaped serious injury after her car collided with a truck while on the school run.
The Britain's Got Talent judge, who announced she was pregnant last month, was left "shaken" following the incident.
The accident occurred as Amanda was making her way to her five-year-old daughter Lexi's West London school.
The pregnant star -- who suffered a miscarriage at seven months earlier this year -- was reportedly "worried sick" about her unborn child after the event, but was taken to hospital for a check-up by a passer-by who came upon the scene. "I'm so grateful to the Good Samaritan who took me to hospital," the star said.
A spokeswoman for the actress revealed that although the other vehicle is still intact, Amanda's car is not: "The lorry's fine, Amanda's car isn't."
It has since been confirmed that despite the emotional ordeal, Amanda and the baby are "fine". A pal close to the mum-of-one revealed: "Her first concern was for the baby. It was clearly a terrifying experience for her."
However, she has been forced to pull out of her West End performance in Shrek The Musical tonight. Amanda -- who announced she is expecting with her husband Chris Hughes only two weeks ago -- has won massive acclaim since taking to the stage as Princess Fiona.
The happy couple broke the good news a fortnight ago and said they are delighted.
"When I found out this time that I was pregnant, I burst into tears," Amanda said.
"I never dreamt it would happen so quickly."
The talent show judge said that she and hubby Chris decided to stay quiet about their recent baby news until they passed the three month mark: "We both said we'd try not to think about it before the 12-week mark."
Meanwhile, Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car -- driven by an 84-year-old woman -- when out jogging in LA yesterday and suffered minor injuries as a consequence. The 35-year-old mum-of-two was running across an unmarked crosswalk in Santa Monica when she was struck at 32km/h.
The Walk The Line star was quickly taken to a local hospital for treatment and is said to comfortably resting at home with her family.
