McFadden denies 'plane rant' claims
Brian McFadden has insisted he was not "smashed and abusive" as he denied allegations that he launched into a drunken rant on a plane.
The former Westlife singer and ex-husband of reality star Kerry Katona called the incident a "storm in a teacup" as he refuted claims that he had been smoking on a V Australia flight between Los Angeles and Sydney.
Brian, 30, was detained at Sydney Airport last night after staff from the airline asked Australian Federal Police officers to meet the flight, it was reported locally.
But writing on Twitter, he said: "Wasn't arrested! Didn't smoke on the flight and the Virgin staff were very nice. I did have a few drinks but I was not smashed and abusive."
No formal complaint was raised by the airline and "no further action will be taken", a police spokesman told the Sydney Morning Herald.
Brian is a judge on Australia's Got Talent and engaged to singer Delta Goodrem.
