Mary to wow celebrity guests as TV3 star Alan weds in Mansion House

X FACTOR star Mary Byrne and singer Brian Kennedy will take to the stage of the wedding of Alan Hughes and his partner Karl Broderick.

The Ireland AM host will wed his long-term beau in just two weeks, and the star-studded nuptials will be covered by VIP magazine.

An insider told the Herald that a host of VIP guests have been invited to the lavish do at Dublin's Mansion House where guests will party into the night.

"This is going to be the celeb wedding of the year. Alan is really close to Pippa O'Connor and her husband Brian Ormond plus Big Brother presenter Brian Dowling.

"And Alan got on really well with the whole Celebrity Salon cast so you can expect Rosanna Davison, Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace and Georgia Salpa to be there, but Calum Best might miss out on the event after what happened this week."

It's thought that Alan is prepared to drop salon co-star Calum, who is believed to have split from Georgia amid speculation linking him to TV star Donna Air.

The source added that the couple have also been busy planning the music for the night, and they've opted for some of Ireland's most talented artists rather than a typical house band.

"Alan and Karl have hired the best of the best for the entertainment on the night.

"Mary Byrne will be singing at the afters, they are huge fans of hers.

"And everyone knows that Karl is a massive fan of the Eurovision, since he wrote the 2005 song for Donna and Joe, Love?, so they have asked Brian Kennedy to play and Sinead Mulvey also," the insider revealed.

Not surprisingly Athlone siblings Donna and Joe McCaul will also be taking to the stage for the high-profile wedding.

Alan recently told the Herald that more well known Irish stars will be at the wedding and the reception with hundreds already on the RSVP list.

"There will be a couple of hundred people at the wedding. It will be a great night and there will be lots of well known faces around," he said.

But the new Family Fortunes star remained tight-lipped on the exact details of his nuptials as it's rumoured that he and fiance Karl have signed a deal with VIP for the exclusive rights to their wedding, following in the footsteps of pals Pippa and Brian.

The pair will walk down the aisle on September 30 at a civil partnership ceremony in the Unitarian church on Dawson Street followed by a party in the Mansion House.
