Love-split Andrea escapes to the sun

FORMER Miss Ireland Andrea Roche is planning a last-minute foreign getaway in a bid to escape the media storm surrounding her marriage break-up with PJ Mansfield.

Friends have revealed how she will jet off to the sun in the coming days, after finding herself the talk of the social scene following the revelation that she and her husband have been living separately for months.

The Tipperary beauty (32) is expected to head for Marbella in Spain for the weekend with a number of pals, many of whom are well known on the social circuit.

She won't be avoiding the limelight for too long, however, given that she is due to launch her annual beauty pageant Miss Universe Ireland in the coming months and is determined to go ahead as planned.

"She's been busy with work for the last couple of days which has kept her mind off things but now she just wants to get away somewhere warm for a break," said a close friend.

"She's determined to keep her head down for a few weeks until it all blows over.

"After that she'll probably throw herself into work and is already busy planning this year's Miss Universe pageant.

"It's kind of a relief to her that it's all out in the open now as the strain of keeping it quiet was starting to take its toll," they added.

Andrea has been keeping a low profile in recent months, even shunning this year's Peter Mark VIP Style Awards, despite being beauty editor of the magazine.

Last Thursday, however, the leggy brunette enjoyed one of her first nights out in months, when she and a bunch of pals were spotted letting their hair down at the newly-refurbished Buck's Townhouse on Leeson Street.
