Loved-up Nikki enjoys festive fun with beau
Last Christmas DJ Nikki Hayes spent St Stephen's Day eating hot dogs alone. But what a difference a year can make.
This year the bubbly Spin FM presenter enjoyed a romantic meal for two at her home in Stoneybatter, Dublin.
The blonde broadcaster is currently loved up and spending lots of time with her army beau Frank Black.
Nikki (31) told the Diary: "I'm so used to having to get dinners for one, last year I spent St Stephen's Day eating hot dogs alone, I'm just so used to being by myself. This year I had Frank and I loved it.
"I was working Christmas morning again this year I have worked nearly every Christmas throughout my career. But when I got home we spent the day together. We both cooked Christmas dinner and it turned out really well.
"I took care of the starters, he did the lemon meringue pie dessert and we did the turkey together. I never cook so it was a new experience."
But despite enjoying her newly found domestic bliss, don't expect Nikki to walk down the aisle soon.
Nikki says she's had enough of weddings after helping to organise her little sister's upcoming nuptials in her role as chief bridesmaid.
She said even though her pals want her to get married she is in no rush to tie the knot with Frank. "Everyone has been asking me if he proposed to me this Christmas. I guess this is the season for engagements but nothing has happened yet. We have only been going out a few months but my friends know I have always been so independent. I never thought I would pair off so now everyone is hearing wedding bells straight away.
"Trust me, nothing like that will happen with me and Frank for a good while.
"I am really happy right now and I don't need anything else. But honestly I am chief bridesmaid for my little sister's wedding and dealing with that would nearly put me off getting married altogether.
"She is getting married next Thursday and because she is the youngest I really have to baby her," she explained.
Nikki has also been spending time with Frank's family in their Letterkenny home over the holidays. The presenter says she has been welcomed with open arms.
"Meeting the family went really well, I have to say. His mum is so sweet, she had fleece pyjamas ready for me last week and told me to get straight into them and make myself at home. He has a really lovely family," she said.
Meanwhile the Dublin star says she has just finalised the sale of her house in Baltinglass and says she has settled in to her new city home.
