Louis plots Irish TV fame for Simon's ex-lover

SIMON Cowell's best pal and former girlfriend Sinitta has revealed how X Factor judge Louis Walsh is trying to convince her to move to Ireland to pursue a career on the small screen.

The singer and one-time actress says that the Mayo man, who is her former manager, has spent years telling her to buy a place over here so that she can fulfil her dreams of fronting her own TV series.

And the 41-year-old admits she's contemplating the offer, given that her attempts to persuade Cowell to give her a job on the US version of the X Factor may not succeed.

"Louis has been saying it to me since the days when he used to manage me, when I was starting out as a singer," she explained.

"Back in the day before he had Boyzone or Westlife on his books, he used to tell me Ireland is the place for me, but it just wasn't practical for me at the time and we dropped the idea.

Nagging

"I've always said it's something I'd like to do so maybe I will do it this year. I'd love to work on Irish television. Why not? I even have the Irish surname, Sinitta Malone.

"I'm hoping that Simon's going to give me a job on the new series of the US X Factor, I'm already nagging him every day so, hopefully, I'll wear him down -- but he hasn't given in so far.

"If not, then who knows. I could be over here in Ireland, it's always an option."

Sinitta, last night appeared on RTE's The Cafe with host Aidan Power, says she's been inundated with requests to do live dates here since she released her greatest hits album last year.

The American-born disco diva says she might even hook up with Lucan twins Jedward for a performance.

"They are definitely icons of the next generation so it would be great to work with them at some point. I'm sure now that Louis is managing them it could be arranged. They were always my favourites on the show.

"They kind of remind me of my little toddlers because they're just so sweet and innocent.

"My kids absolutely love them, they're only three and four and they can tell the two of them apart," she added.

The mum of two was recently voted out of hit ITV reality show Dancing on Ice but says she still skates most days and plans to keep it up as a hobby.

Sinitta says she is now rooting for Boyzone's Mikey Graham to win the series.
