Louis: I hate my looks ... I certainly wouldn't fancy myself
X FACTOR judge Louis Walsh needs a confidence boost -- he doesn't find himself attractive.
But despite being unsure of his appearance when seated near Take That star Gary Barlow, the Mayo man says he will do little to change it.
The music boss revealed his weakness compared to the other top judges on the X Factor -- he does not think he's good looking enough and wouldn't pick himself out of a crowd.
"On a scale of one to 10 on my attractiveness, I'd say I'm only about a five," the 59-year-old said.
"I'm overweight, funny, cuddly and not hairy at all.
"Let's put it this way, certainly I wouldn't fancy myself."
Louis is the oldest member of this year's celebrity panel on the X Factor alongside Tulisa, Kelly Rowland, and Take That's Gary Barlow.
Despite feeling the pressure when sitting beside judges, down-to-earth Louis said he wouldn't change his image in order to win over more fans.
X Factor boss Simon Cowell, who is not appearing on the panel this year, is the subject of much speculation that he has resorted to "help" when it comes to maintaining his youthful looks. The 51-year-old is reported to use botox and cosmetic surgery to rid himself of wrinkles and "fillers".
In previous years, Cowell made a point about nagging the Jedward boss to remove bags under his eyes or get dental work done to improve his teeth.
However, Louis has slammed suggestions that he has gone under the knife this year to perk up his face for the cameras or in an effort to appear younger while sitting next to 23-year-old N-Dubz singer Tulisa.
Despite being hard on himself about his appearance, Louis gives himself top marks in the love department.
"I would say I'm actually very good and very understanding and warm."
Louis' admission comes as things are heating up on this year's X Factor competition, with next weekend's instalment taking the hopefuls through to the Bootcamp stages of the TV3 show.
Millions of fans will tune in to see Dublin teen Melanie McCabe and Tyrone lass Janet Devlin battle it out to win a spot at the judges' houses.
