Lottie bounces back from cancelled gig with new role already in the bag

GORGEOUS Lottie Ryan's broadcasting career has been dealt a blow before it even began.

The daughter of the late RTE star Gerry Ryan has made no secret of her desire to follow in the footsteps of her father, but her dreams of hosting a massive concert event have been hit.

Lottie was due to make her debut as an MC next Thursday as host of the Summer Blowout concert series at Donnybrook Stadium. However, the high profile event has been unexpectedly cancelled -- and tickets are no longer on sale for what was one of the most anticipated events of the summer.

But you can't keep a good woman down, and the pretty brunette has already recovered from the hiccup and is set to play host at the event taking place at Grafton Street haunt Dandelion.

It is believed that confusion arose between the IRFU and concert organisers -- and due to the fact that a Leinster Wasps match will be played the following day, the event will instead be hosted at three different venues in the city centre.

An insider revealed: "The IRFU were on holidays when it was being organised and the event controller said the pitch was playable even if the concert went ahead.

"But when the IRFU returned they said the pitch wouldn't be playable after all and they had to cancel the concert."

The well known club will welcome former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, as well as Skins stars Megan Prescott and Merveille Lukeba for their celebrations at the summer concert.

Lottie's star is also set to soar when the brand new series Very Important Child debuts.
