Lorraine keeps it Irish when handing over her fashion crown

- TV babe Lorraine Keane has revealed how she has decided to keep it Irish when it comes to handing over her fashion crown tonight at tonight's Peter Mark VIP Style Awards. She explained how she was considering wearing an international designer for this evening's bash but in the end, decided to go for something from the House of Delphine instead.

"Delphine (Grandjouan) has some amazing dresses and she has a real Irish connection, which is what I would prefer, so she's sending up my dress from Kerry and I'm really excited about the awards tonight," she explained.

She was out with celebrity agent Noel Kelly during the week as they pressed the flesh in Residence for John Fitzpatrick's bash ahead of St Patrick's Day.

Last weekend, she helped raised thousands of euro for a good cause as she joined forces with plenty of other celebrities for Norma Smurfit's Spring Clean event in the RDS which saw her selling off many of her favourite pieces to help raise plenty of cash for charity.

- While Rosanna Davison was out at an invite-only bash in St Stephen's Green, a few streets away on the same evening saw Glenda Gilson stepping into the spotlight at Brown Thomas.

And clearly the drama of the past fortnight hasn't impacted on her fashion sense, given that she was clad in a chic pair of wet-look leggings and a skimpy black top for the Showtime beauty event. More than 200 guests were treated to a showcase of the latest trends in skincare and beauty looks, hosted by Glenda and her Xpose pals.

BT's MD Stephen Sealey helped welcome in the hordes of well turned-out guests, who were treated to mini-makeovers and luxury treats, while Mo Kelly took to the decks to entertain the crowds.

Attendees on the night included Siobhan O'Connor, Tara O'Leary, Amber Jean Rowan and TV3's Debbie O'Donnell. The event runs in all BT stores until this Sunday, with customers able to pick up all the hottest tricks of the trade.

- Bad news for R Kelly fans. The international crooner has just confirmed he has cancelled his April 7 performance at the Grand Canal Theatre due to "throat problems".

He has also been forced to postpone his forthcoming European tour, which was due to start on March 22, due to ill health. The star, who has been working hard on his new album, has worryingly developed nodules on his vocal cords and doctors have ordered him to rest his voice for at least a month.

"I owe it to my fans to give them the best shows possible and right now my voice isn't up to the job," he stated. Anyone who bought tickets is now entitled to a refund from the point of purchase.
