Leigh jets to US in hunt for movie stardom
Actress Leigh Arnold will be jetting off to America shortly to discuss a number of possible new projects.
But don't expect to see her back on the Dublin scene much in 2011 as she's relocating to London once her trip is over.
The Herald can reveal how Leigh (31), whose new movie Charlie Casanova is due out this year, is planning on spending some time Stateside in a bid to spread her work wings.
A pal of the socialite said: "There's not that much happening in Ireland at the moment, film-wise, so she wants to keep her options open and not limit herself by being based in Dublin.
"She knows loads of people over in London and reckons it's a good time to make the move, so she's going to head over there for a while as she has been approached about a number of new projects."
He added how Leigh was intent on "keeping her head down" for a while and concentrating on building up her resume.
The former Clinic actress, who played the part of Dr Clodagh Delaney, has been involved in a number of projects since RTE axed the drama series in November 2009.
As well as treading the boards in Dracula at the Tivoli, she also took part in TV3's Celebrity Salon, where she learnt all the tricks of the beauty trade.
The southside beauty, who was last year appointed as the Irish face of GOSH cosmetics, also dated Marcus Sweeney for two years.
However, she has not been linked with anyone since their split more than a year ago and has vowed not to talk about her personal life in interviews. She said: "I think it's very dull, to be honest, and it's not something anyone wants to hear about. It's not like I'm going out with a footballer or a rich businessman, so I don't understand why it causes such fascination."
