Leaving new baby for work isn't hard -- Pam

GOING back to work and leaving your baby at home can be traumatic for some first-time mums -- but not so for presenter Pamela Flood.

The 40-year-old has revealed that driving through the gates of RTE is like "hanging out at a friend's house".

The Tallaght native, who now has a beauty slot on Four Live after going down a treat with viewers, told the Herald that she feels a familiar sense of comfort when she returns to the Montrose station.

"I love being in RTE, I was there for so long and got to know so many great people. I really enjoy going out there," she said.

The chatty blonde's career took a back seat when she welcomed the arrival of her and her partner Ronan Ryan's son Harrison in March last year.

But she has been enjoying success with her RTE weekday programme.

"In this line of work it's not like you choose what jobs to do, someone usually comes and finds you if they want you.

"I'm the standby person to fill in for Maura if she's away or sick. I was last year too, and it's a brilliant gig.

"She's so full on and fabulous, I have a great laugh working with her," added the broadcaster.

Meanwhile, the Dubliner has admitted that she still hasn't bought her "close pal" Caroline Morahan (34) an engagement present because she's been so consumed by her "favourite subject" -- motherhood.

"My time management skills have gone completely out the window since my son arrived.

"All my friends know that, I've become very consumed with the baby. I'll probably get her something around the time of the wedding," she added.
