Laura home from LA to record new album
DUBLIN singer turned actress Laura Izibor is returning home from Tinseltown to record her new album.
The chanteuse (23) has just wrapped filming on long-running American TV series One Tree Hill, in which she stars alongside James Lafferty, Eve Hewson's current squeeze.
Laura is planning to divide her time between Dublin, London and LA over the coming months as she works on her second album. The singer -- who became close to her co-stars during her time filming in Wilmington, North Carolina last year -- will have plenty of opportunity to catch up with her co-star James (25), better known as Nathan Scott, in light of his blossoming relationship with U2 rocker Bono's daughter Eve (19).
The loved-up couple of over a month went public with their romance last week when James enjoyed a day out at Leopards-town races with the Hewson clan. Laura shares many scenes with James, as her character Erin Macree is friends with James's onscreen wife Hayley.
"She was one of the first cast members that I really met and got to talk with," Laura explained.
"I was glad that at that time they were the first people that I had scenes with.
"The first days I found it really hard to just sit still in Wilmington. Then after like a week, it was the best thing in the world for me. It just slowed me down so it was actually really, really great for my head space."
Laura is now looking forward to spending more time in her hometown of Dublin, having grown up on the Northside's Griffith Avenue, as she jets back and forth between the UK and the US to record tracks for her new album.
According to the singer: "I've got to do more recording. Ireland is always home."
