Kanye believe it ... star rapper hits the town in Portlaoise

SUPERSTAR Kanye West almost bowled over cinema goers when he turned up at the flicks in Portlaoise.

Kim Kardashian's new beau made a pit stop at the movie theatre with a bunch of pals to watch Prometheus.

Three teenagers from St Mary's CBS in Portlaoise couldn't believe their luck when they saw the Grammy Award winner in Storm Cinema last week.

"It was a shock to see him there, I didn't really believe it," Craig Martley (14) told the Herald. "We got a text from a friend, saying he was in the cinema, and we were waiting outside for him beside his big black Mercedes," he said.

Craig Martley was joined by his brother Ciaran (14) and their friend Lee Davis (14) - the lads were too star-struck to talk, but they mustered the bravery to ask for a photo.

"He was smaller than I thought," Craig admitted, "I called all my friends and they didn't believe me until I put the photos up on Facebook."

However he said he would have preferred to bump into Kanye's girlfriend, Kim.

Kanye was in Ireland for his gig with fellow rapper Jay-Z and is believed to have stayed at the luxury Ballyfin Demesne.

Locals were shocked to see the American artist in the area and Twitter was alive with speculation over how he might entertain himself.

Luckily Mr West was rather taken with Prometheus - Craig and his pals snapped him on his second trip to see the movie.
