IT'S a case of mum's the word for top Irish designer Joanne Hynes who's expecting her first baby, the Diary can reveal.
The well-known clothing and jewellery creator, who has dressed everyone from Amy Huberman to Sinead O'Connor, is seven months pregnant.
And given her penchant for edgy, fashion-forward creations, don't expect to see her in any frumpy maternity wear as she enters her final trimester.
Joanne is over the moon at the prospect of becoming a new mum and welcoming in a baby with her partner John.
Confirming the good news, she said: "I am pregnant with my first child. This is something I've wanted for a long time and it's brought me great happiness," she said.
But don't expect to see her taking a step back and retiring into a life of domestic bliss -- she's adamant that she'll be able to continue blazing a trail in the fashion world.
"The key is to continue to do what's normal for me. I intend to continue as normal and to retain the current work ethic that I have -- I don't know any other way to live," she said.
She walked down the aisle with her former husband Kamal Chana at a ceremony in February 2010 in New Delhi wearing a gown she designed herself.
She has now parted ways from him but revealed how they "remain good friends".
Joanne graduated in 2001 with an MA in Womenswear from London's Central Saint Martins College and is now one of Ireland's best-known designers.
She launched her label in 2003 and has been featured in everything from Vogue to Elle and she has dressed such stars as Daphne Guinness to Nicola Roberts.
