'I've never been so happy' - proud new mum Virginia
NEW mum Virginia Macari has revealed how she's over the moon after the arrival of her first baby.
And the Diary can reveal how she'll be putting filming for her TV show on hold for a while as she gets to grips with becoming a new mum.
Luckily there wasn't a camera in sight as Virginia (36) and partner Kaste Dahl welcomed their new baby Thor Sebastian Kaste at 2.47am yesterday.
The baby was born at Mount Carmel Hospital weighing a healthy 7lbs and she described him as "beautiful".
"I've never been so happy. Like every baby our little prince is beautiful. I'm so in love," she said. "It's just the most amazing feeling."
She has been inundated with messages of congratulations from friends and family, including TV presenter Lucy Kennedy and her actress sister Sonya Macari after giving birth in the Dublin hospital.
The half-Italian socialite and designer has spent the past few months preparing for the new addition to their family.
They moved into a penthouse apartment on Spencer Dock and Virginia had been busy renovating their new pad in preparation for the tiny arrival.
She has also been busy filming for a new TV3 show Dublin Housewives, which co-stars Roz Flanagan, Lisa Murphy, Danielle Meagher and Jo Jordan.
But she has indicated how she'll be taking a back seat for a little while she spends some quality time with her new son.
Virginia is just one of a number of well-known beauties who have become first-time mums in recent months.
Among those who have welcomed new arrivals are Rachel Kavanagh (below right), Jenny Buckley, Anna Daly (above right) and Aisling O'Loughlin (far right).
Virginia has been with her Norwegian partner for the past four years after meeting him during a fashion show through mutual friends.
They previously lived in Marbella before returning to Ireland during the pregnancy.
As well as being signed up as one of the stars of the new programme, she is also hoping to bring out a new fashion line this year.
She was previously a presenter on the Podge and Rodge show, playing the part of sexy barmaid Gina. She was also a participant on the first Celebrity Salon show, alongside Leigh Arnold and Celia Holman Lee.
