It's animal magic as Pamela collars an afternoon slot

She's been noticeably absent from the limelight since she and pal Caroline Morahan were unceremoniously dropped from Off The Rails a year and a half ago -- but things are finally looking up for RTE star Pamela Flood.

The Diary can reveal the blonde will join Maura Derrane and Sheana Keane as part of the Afternoon Show team, recording a weekly slot on Fridays.

She explained: "It's all about working dogs, which is brilliant because dogs are my passion."

She added: "It's so enjoyable. Last week we did therapy dogs and I've also been out at the airport doing a report on sniffer dogs. It would be my absolute dream come true to work on some sort of animal related series fulltime.

"I'm always telling them they have to give it to me if anything comes up."

Former Miss Ireland Pamela says she is also contemplating a return to fashion journalism and hopes to put her knowledge about style to good use in the coming months by putting pen to paper to write about it.

The Lotto presenter turned on the style yesterday to attend the launch of Aware's Depression Aware Week at the Shelbourne Hotel.
