Is it curse of the Kennedys as Ryan's book tumbles to No 4?
IT WAS a book that was publicised like no other.
But sadly the well chronicled curse of the Kennedys may be affecting Ryan Tubridy's JFK book.
The RTE star's tome on the visit of John F Kennedy to Ireland has been well received.
But JFK In Ireland only fell to Number Four in the Eason bestseller list after entering at number two last week.
Media watchers believe its initial lofty position may have been enhanced by the decision to wheel out girlfriend Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain for the launch. The move helped to guarantee acres of coverage for the book's debut.
The Late Late Show host is being kept away from the number one spot by massive sellers, including Paul Howard's The Oh My God Delusion; Jamie Oliver's cookbook Jamie's 30 Minutes Meals, and John Giles' autobiography.
When it comes to overall sales figures in Ireland, data supplied by media monitoring company Nielsen BookScan shows that Tubridy has to date sold a respectable total of 1,116 books, worth €22,289.
Ryan will now be hoping that Christmas shoppers pick his work as a stocking filler.
