I'm staying single while I work on going solo -- Blizzards' Niall

HE'S one of Ireland's most eligible bachelors -- and The Blizzards lead singer Niall Breslin intends on staying that way.

The singer has told the Herald that he intends on devoting all his spare time to his career -- and has no time for romance.

He is currently recording his debut solo album, which is set for release in September, and has been "completely immersed" in his music.

However, he is admitting that he is losing out on the chances of finding love for the sake of his career.

"I am very single, no one could even imagine going out with me at the moment. I wouldn't put any girl through this," he explained.

He told the Herald that he would feel guilty about dating somebody at present, even claiming that he would be a "complete b*****d" right now".

"There's a time and place for love but right now it couldn't happen. I've done it before where I've gone out with girls and I'm this busy and it's just not fair on them. I get so stuck into my music," he said.

"Once the really hard work is done I can relax a bit. But the last thing I want to do is go home after recording in the studio, then fight with a girlfriend after not seeing her for a week then coming back into the studio the next day."

The singer/songwriter admitted: "I really do miss Ireland.

"But I wanted to work with different artists, and get into r'n'b and other genres. I will definitely move back."

Westmeath man Niall will play his first solo gig this month in Whelans on June 29.

And the Herald can reveal that the former rugby star is extremely "nervous" about performing alone on stage for the first time.

"It's the first gig without The Blizzards and it's my first gig in over a year and a half, and it's in one of my favourite venues. It is time I came back, but I'm not going to lie, I am nervous.

"Some of the guys from the band will be there, I have a lot of emotions about it."
