I'm over break-up and loving single life, insists Yvonne

FORMER Miss Ireland Yvonne Ellard has revealed she holds no grudge against her former fiance, despite their shock break-up just two weeks before their wedding.

The stunning blonde (32) had been due to tie the knot with businessman Jamie Rohan last summer.

However, the couple of eight years caused shockwaves throughout society circles when they called it all off with just two weeks to go.

"He was the love of my life. I have nothing but good things to say about him.

"He decided that I wasn't the right person for him and I have to respect that," Yvonne revealed.

"It's a pity it took eight years and two weeks before the wedding for him to realise that, but he's an amazing guy. I could never say a bad word about him," she said.

Down-to-earth Yvonne is now enjoying life as a single lady after throwing herself into work as a marketing and PR guru.

"I'm okay. It's not easy to break up with someone after eight years," she explained.

"I'm single and enjoying it, who knows what's going to happen."

She was speaking at last night's launch of the Dublin Horse Show at the RDS, which takes place from August 3 to 7.

Yvonne was awarded the title of Best Dressed Lady at last year's event, winning an impressive prize package to the USA.

"I'm really looking forward to the horse show. It's a fantastic day regardless of the Best Dressed Lady contest," she told the Diary.

"It's a great day for the girls, a great day for the style. There's great camaraderie.

"One thing I learned last year is that it's not about money.

"The prize was amazing, a trip to San Francisco, Napa Valley and a few days in LA. It was unbelievable."

The leggy blonde was dressed to impress in a fitted yellow dress as she joined fellow horsing enthusiasts to celebrate this year's much anticipated event.

The statuesque beauty explained how she has had numerous offers of modelling work since winning the prize last August and has been doing it on a part-time basis.

"I used to be a model a couple of years ago but I'm very much career-focused at the moment," she explained.

"It's been great since the horse show. I've certainly done some modelling over the year, things like Ireland AM. I'm definitely open to other offers though."

Among the other high-profile names in attendance at last night's invite-only launch at Residence Members Club on St Stephen's Green was top model Rozanna Purcell, socialite Hayley Rock, RTE newscaster Anne Doyle, TV3's Sinead Desmond and professional show-jumper Cian O'Connor and his fiancee Ruth Maybin to name but a few.
