I want to see my Stephen back in green
EXILE: He's such a talented player, says partner Jessica
Controversial footballer Stephen Ireland's partner has said she would love to see him line out for the boys in green again.
But gorgeous Jessica Lawlor (25) says the decision ultimately lies with him, and she wouldn't put pressure on him to end his self-imposed exile.
"Yeah, of course I would love to see him play for them," she said. "He's so talented and such a good player and it would be great for him to go back.
"Whenever people ask me that question, I always say it's his call and his decision. I can only tell them that it's up to Stephen to decide."
The Irish midfielder (24), currently on loan to Newcastle, has not played for the Ireland squad since the infamous 'Grannygate' controversy erupted before a game against Slovakia in September 2007.
He had initially claimed his granny had died and he had to fly home immediately. It subsequently emerged that Jessica had actually suffered a miscarriage and he wanted to be there to comfort her.
The pair have been together for five years and now have a baby boy, Jacob (2) together, as well as two children from Ireland's previous relationship.
