'I thought I'd never be able to have children'- mum-to-be Denise
LOVE/HATE star Denise McCormack has said playing the role of tragic gangland wife Linda made her realise how blessed she is to be expecting her first child.
Denise is now busily trying to find the perfect maternity dress to wear to the IFTAs this Saturday.
Denise will be remembered by hundreds of thousands of viewers for her powerful portrayal of Linda in the hit RTE series.
Not only is she remembered for THAT love scene in the back of a 4x4 with character Nidge (Tom Vaughan Lawlor), viewers will also remember how her character couldn't conceive her own child and how she took her own life after she was scarred following a pipe bomb attack on her home.
But in real life Denise's life is much more positive, as she is expecting her first child with her partner.
Speaking to the Herald the expectant mum says she could understand Linda's heartbreak at not being able to have children and admits she feels lucky to be pregnant for the first time.
"A lot of people fear that they can't get pregnant. I spent years worrying all the time what if I can't have children, especially getting into your 30s. So I really understood Linda's heartbreak.
"I think every woman fears that it will happen to her. A few people I know can't conceive and it's terrible. But when I got pregnant I thought why was I worrying so much? The role really made me appreciate how lucky I am, I feel blessed," she explained.
Denise is looking forward to her new role as a mother, but says she would have no problem returning to work weeks after giving birth and says she would have loved the chance to star in the next season of Love/Hate.
