SHE'S the lead in Glen Hansard's hit musical 'Once' – but Croatian actress Zrinka Cvitesic says she's banned from watching the award-winning film.
ZRINKA is currently treading the boards in the Gaiety – and the hit musical is due to finish its Dublin run on Saturday night before heading to the West End.
"I haven't seen it [the film]," Zrinka told the Herald.
"All the other cast members have watched it and loved it, but not me."
The 33-year-old actress stars as Girl in the eight-time Tony award-winning musical, which is packing in the audiences at the Gaiety.
But she is under strict instructions from musical director John Tiffany to avoid watching the film.
"The director told me not to. I can't watch the film or see the stage play; he said it might affect my performance. So I'll have to wait till the end of the run," Zrinka laughs.
While she understands the reasoning behind it, Zrinka says she was left red-faced when some of the film's cast came to see the show.
"It was a bit embarrassing when they came in," she says. "Afterwards they asked me if I liked the movie, I had to tell them I'd never seen it. I think they were a little surprised."
