I must move on, Tess tells Tubridy
TESS Daly is "drawing a line" under the sex text scandal surrounding her husband Vernon Kay, she told Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy.
The glamorous presenter's world was dealt an unexpected blow when it emerged that her husband had been exchanging lewd text messages with five other women.
However, the mum of two said that she and her husband will be working on the relationship behind closed doors, and are determined to make it work.
The former model was dressed to kill in a one-shoulder turquoise dress and black ankle boots during her appearance on the Late Late Show, when she explained how tough it was going through the scandal in the public realm.
"Well you can imagine going through problems in your personal life in private is difficult enough to deal with, and then to do that in public makes it a heck of a lot harder," she revealed.
"You deal with these things behind closed doors and we're in a lot more positive place now, we're working through it, and drawing a line under it and moving on."
Tess (38) jetted into Ireland yesterday for a signing of her new book earlier today at Eason's on O'Connell Street and stopped in for an appearance on the iconic late-night show.
There was huge shock in showbiz circles after the Family Fortunes host, renowned for his squeaky clean image, was forced to admit he had sent the racy text messages.
Tess initially cancelled a number of public engagements to promote the book as the couple, who have been together for a decade, privately dealt with their marital issues.
But now she has resolved to put the scandal behind her after working through things with her husband.
"It's been tough, as you can imagine, but I've taken some time out to think things through and at the end of the day we've had 10 great years together, we've got two beautiful kids and we both think that's worth fighting for," she said.
In February, it was revealed that Vernon sent texts to Page 3 model Rhian Sugden. He later made a public apology to his wife on his Radio 1 show.
