I lost count of the girls -- Rod
Rod Stewart said he slept with so many women he lost count but insisted he was not "a guy for one-night stands".
The veteran rocker said the break-up of his marriage to Rachel Hunter left him heartbroken and added his new wife, Penny Lancaster, was the love of his life.
Asked by Piers Morgan if he could remember every women he slept with, he said: "No, no, and I'm not proud of that either. I can remember the good shags... only joking.
"You know what you do remember is the ones who taught you how to 'nasty'. They teach you little things, little tricks, and in the old days, it used to be a woman a few years older than me, as Maggie May was, 33 ... and I was 16 or 17'," he said, referring to his hit song.
During the interview, for tonight's episode of ITV1's Piers Morgan's Life Stories, Stewart said: "I was never a guy for one-night stands, I enjoyed the courtship and a little bit of romance and the chase, I enjoyed the chase."
The singer paid tribute to Lancaster, describing her as "just fabulous.
