How Miss Universe hopeful Hannah is following in the footsteps of her model gran
SHE is the favourite to win tonight's Miss Universe Ireland final...and this Ballsbridge girl learned it all from her granny.
AR model Hannah Devane (20) revealed that it was the catwalk tips she received from her late grandmother Jill as child that have inspired her to carve a career in the industry that she loved so much.
Hannah, who recently caught the eye of Elle McPherson in Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model, has proved that good looks really do run in the family, as her grandmother was a top model in the 1960s.
Although Jill tragically died of cancer at the age of 61 when Hannah was just a child, she said that she still holds "special" memories of their time together.
"I remember when I'd literally be four years old and she'd have me in big high heels and teach me how to walk around the sitting room. I wish she was around to see all this.
"I remember when I started modelling, my grandfather sent pictures of her on the catwalk, I had never seen pictures of her modelling, and I just thought that it was really cool.
"I'm just so excited, this is the first time I've done a pageant before.
"I just finished college and I decided to take every opportunity that comes my way," she told the Herald.
