Holly and rugby beau Cian go public at style awards
MISS Ireland Holly Carpenter and her new rugby boyfriend Cian Healy are set to go public for the first time at the Peter Mark VIP Awards.
THE Raheny beauty has revealed how she'll be joined by the burly Ireland star -- despite admitting how it's probably the last thing he would ever attend usually.
"You know what guys are like. That kind of thing is normally a guy's worst nightmare but we'll have a laugh anyway. It will be nice to look nice together on a night out," she said.
The Leinster star won't be the only rugby player dusting off the tuxedo on the night.
Rob Kearney is also expected with Susie Amy alongside fellow nominees Gordon D'Arcy and Aoife Cogan.
Holly and Cian have been dating since December and have been spotted enjoying a string of dates all over Dublin, with Cian whisking her off to London last month as a Valentine's Day treat.
And gorgeous Holly, who has been nominated in the Best Newcomer category of the awards, is obviously taking her supporting role to her sports star boyfriend very seriously.
As well as having a French-themed party in her family home last weekend, she also plans on lining out at Twickenham for the clash against England on St Patrick's Day.
"We had foie gras and a French starter. I was looking for snails but I couldn't get them," she told the Diary.
"The result last weekend was brilliant, especially because everyone was expecting us to get hammered and at one stage, it looked like we were going to win it."
She is also taking part in this year's Sports Relief, joining forces with fellow celebs, such as Amanda Byram, for the gruelling challenge in Liverpool before the gang all troop down to London to cheer on the boys in green against the England.
The beauty queen clearly has a competitive streak herself -- and has admitted that she would love to win a style award.
She's up against fellow beauties Michele McGrath, Rozanna Purcell and Daniella Moyles and has already ordered a dress from Giovanni, the same label she wore at the Miss World final. "I would love to win but I won't be devastated it I don't," she said.
"I heard it's good craic so I'm bringing out a short dress to change into for afterwards as I don't want to trash it. If people were standing on my dress I'd be like 'Nobody touch me!'"
