He's got the X factor! Dermot is our top TV hunk in Valentine poll

PRESENTER Dermot O'Leary has topped a poll of women asking them to name their top TV Valentine.

The star, who fronts hit talent show The X Factor, got 14pc of the vote in the search to find the small screen's most fanciable man.

He picked up more than twice the votes of his closest contender for the title, Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch, who got 6pc, narrowly ahead of Strictly Come Dancing winner Harry Judd (5.4pc).

Holly Willoughby was clear winner in the search for the most fanciable female with 16pc of the vote.

Second place went to Karen Gillan (10pc) who plays Doctor's Who sidekick Amy Pond.

Researchers spoke to 2,000 adults for the survey, which was carried out on behalf of digital TV company Freeview.

A spokeswoman for the firm said: "It's clear TV presenters provide an extra reason to tune in and watch TV and a candlelit dinner at home and watching a romantic film is the perfect Valentine's Day date -- it's easier on the pocket than a trip out to the cinema or to a restaurant."
