Heathers set to go Wilde at Oscar after-party gig

TALENTED twins Heathers are set to make a name for themselves Stateside by crashing some of the glitziest Oscar after-parties.

Dubliners Louise and Ellie McNamara (23) are best known for their song Remember When which is featured on the Discover Ireland television ads.

The twins' music career has gone from strength to strength in recent years and they have been invited to play at the eighth annual Oscar Wilde: Honouring the Irish in Film party in LA next month.

Guest of honour on the night will be fellow Dubliner and Seven Psychopaths star Colin Farrell (36).

And Ellie says she's can't wait to meet Colin and gate crash Elton John's after party.

"We're really excited. I've never met Colin before so I can't wait. We're planning on gate-crashing one or two of the big parties after the ceremony," Ellie told the Herald.

"It's a once in a lifetime gig. I don't think I'll ever get to experience the madness of Oscar week in Hollywood again. I'd say the atmosphere is going to be electric."

The Oscar Wilde party will take place at Mission Impossible producer JJ Abrams production house, Bad Robot, and Ellie says she and her sister will be celeb spotting in between their sets.

"Stephen Spielberg has gone most years so we might get to see him," Ellie said.

"I'm going to be absolutely terrified playing in front of all those famous faces."

In the run-up to the awards the girls, who come from Blackrock, say they will be getting up to speed with all the nominees.

The new year has been shaping up well for the sisters. Heathers have just been nominated for Meteor Choice Award for their album Kingdom.

"We were delighted with the nomination. Ever since the Tourism Ireland ad we've been incredibly lucky," added Ellie.
