Heart op star 'feels amazing'
STAR of The Restaurant John Healy has enjoyed his first walk since being given a life-saving heart transplant.
The 46-year-old television personality (below) has revealed he's on the mend.
"Out of intensive care and first walk with my new heart on board -- Feel amazing ... and life is good," the Kildare native wrote on his Twitter page.
Close pals had feared for his life after he suffered two heart attacks in the last few years.
Mr Healy, originally from Naas, experienced his first heart attack aged 41 in 2007 and admitted that heavy smoking and drinking contributed to it.
He admitted to contacting the Rutland Centre for treatment, which he said was the "best thing I ever did".
And he told Today FM host Ray D'Arcy that he was still "in awe and quite shocked" with the whole procedure. "It all happened so fast and I hadn't got time to think," he said.
