IRISH actress Sonya Macari has landed a role alongside pop princess Britney Spears in hit TV programme Glee.
Just weeks after being signed up to star in rock legend Ozzy Osbourne's new music video, Sonya has landed a part on the smash-hit musical series.
Glee fans will see brunette beauty Sonya join the Toxic singer on the small screen when the programme goes out later this year, after the up-and-coming star was plucked from hundreds of hopefuls for the coveted role.
The talented actress spent several days at Paramount studios in LA last week shooting the music video.
The footage will be used for the much-hyped programme and is also expected to be part of a separate music video set to be released by Britney later this year.
The episode will see American pop star Britney step into Madonna's shoes in a recreation of the pair's Me Against the Music video, while Heather Morris, who plays Glee member Brittany, takes on Britney's role.
"Sonya has a small part in the episode and was absolutely delighted when she got the call to say she had it," said a source close to the talented beauty.
"She's a huge fan of both Glee and Britney so to get to work so close to her was a dream come true.
"She really impressed the crew on the set of Ozzy Osbourne's new music video when she filmed it earlier this month so when this gig came up she was an immediate shoo in," they added.
It's thought that Britney will feature in a number of 'dream sequences' on the programme -- much to her delight and Glee fans alike.
Sonya's latest high-profile gig is another boost for her blossoming career in Tinseltown, after she recently landed a role in Hollywood blockbuster Water for Elephants alongside Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson.
The actress will play the part of Rube in the Francis Lawrence-directed thriller.
