Filling Kathryn's shoes is a Frontier too far for glam newlywed Lucy
NEWLYWED RTE presenter Lucy Kennedy has quashed rumours that she is to take over as host of No Frontiers from Kathryn Thomas.
"There's no truth to these No Frontier rumours, I swear on my life. I read about that in a paper and I was thinking, 'where on earth did this come from?'," Lucy told the Diary.
The down to earth presenter is committed to making her own show, Living with Lucy, a success and doesn't feel she would have time to do No Frontiers if the opportunity arose.
"To be honest, I don't know if it's something I would be interested in. I've done six stories for No Frontiers and I've always enjoyed it, but it would be a huge commitment. As long as I'm doing Living with Lucy I just can't do the two."
Kathryn Thomas, who has admitted she would love the chance told take on Podge and Rodge herself, is expected to leave the travel show after this season.
Meanwhile, the Diary can reveal the glam newlywed is already planning a large brood with hubby of two months, Richie Governey.
However we won't be hearing the pitter-patter of tiny feet any time soon as the RTE star feels becoming an aunt for the first time is enough responsibility for now.
"My sister just had a baby and that's given me a really good insight into motherhood," she said. "She's been my guinea pig and now I know I'm definitely not ready yet! But I would definitely love to have a big family one day.
"I've always had these ambitions to have five sons but I'll be taking my time.
"It's funny, I've been married two months and already everyone keeps asking me if there's any news yet," she told the Diary.
The bubbly brunette cannot wait for the return of her new Living with Lucy series but admits it's definitely going to be tough to outdo last season's guests.
"Last year was amazing. What definitely stands out for me is the time I spent with Jade Goody and Daithi O'Shea. I wasn't very impressed with Calum Best though," she said.
The straight-talking presenter believes his new MTV reality show, Totally Calum Best, is exactly what he needs.
"I haven't seen the show yet but he definitely needs to go on a sex ban for a month. All he talks about is sex. He is genuinely like a sex fiend.
"He's extraordinarily good-looking but his personality just doesn't match up.
"Whereas the second I moved in with Jade I knew straight away she's not what people think. She's genuinely a good person, a young mum, warm and friendly."
