Fans here swoon as JLS open up private world

Boyband JLS thrilled an army of Irish fans in their first of two Dublin show's last night.

The X Factor losers proved they're the big winners overall with a sensational show at the O2 venue.

The quartet, who will appear on stage at the venue again tonight, failed to win the talent show but have gone on to enjoy massive success, receiving two Brits and two MOBO awards for their first and second album JLS and Outta This World.

Aston Merrygold (22), Marvin Humes (25), Jonathan 'JB' Gill (23) and Oritse Williams (23) gave the crowd an upbeat performance, delighting them with hits such as One Shot and Everybody In Love.

The group showed off their many talents with energetic dance routines that received cheers of appreciation from the crowd.

The 2008 X Factor finalists also met some lucky fans yesterday at the signing of their new book, Just Between Us: Our Private Diary, at Easons on O'Connell Street.

The book will detail the band's road to success from their days as a little known London and Peterborough act.

The diary reveals the backstage drama that went on during their sell-out UK tour, as well as exclusive details of their hectic lifestyle.

JLS were the only band to reach the X Factor finals until newly-formed One Direction managed it last December.

Despite missing out on being crowned winners of the show's fifth series, won by Alexandra Burke, they have sold over 1.3 million albums and had four number one singles in the last 18 months.

The band will be heading off to Belfast for another two concerts at the Odyssey arena on Wednesday.
