Eurosong hopefuls to battle Jedward

EUROSONG hopeful Bill Hughes has insisted that it's not a one-horse race this Friday.

And he said that his entry Donna McCaul (right) is going to give it 100pc this weekend in the Late Late Show, even though she's going up against the mighty Jedward.

"It's obviously a case of David versus Goliath here but she's been installed as the second favourite, which is great in itself," he said.

"I think we have a great singer, a great song and she is our little dynamite from Athlone. She's going to pack a real punch."

The Eurosong mentor has been working with the crooner for the past number of weeks as they fine-tune her performance and also work on re-vamping her image. Celebrity crimper Gary Kavanagh has been signed up to do her hair, she will be styled by Catherine Condell and Zoe Clarke will do her make-up to ensure she looks her best.

"We've got a great team working on her and she's going to go out and do her very best. We know we're going up against some tough competition but I'm very proud of the song and think it stands up as a great entry," he added.

He co-wrote her song Mercy, which she'll perform during a Late Late Show special this Friday as she goes up against fellow hopefuls Jedward, Una Gibney, Andrew Mann and Maria McCool in the battle to represent Ireland in the 2012 Eurovision.
