THERE will plenty of old-school Hollywood glamour on the red carpet at this years IFTAs.
The countdown has begun and according to designers there's going to a distinctly vintage vibe at the awards ceremony next month.
Stars will be looking to Hollywood screen sirens such as Veronica Lake, Rita Hayworth and Joan Crawford for style inspiration this year
Fashion label Fran and Jane is known for high octane glamour, and the retail chain predicts lots of glitz and sparkle.
"We're in talks with several celebrities about their dresses," Ciara Hewett of Fran and Jane said. "This is a real Oscar collection; old school glamour will be the key look at the IFTAs."
Form-fitting gowns with fishtail kicks will also be top of the celebs' lust list.
"Tight-fitting dresses are proving popular this awards season," says Lisa Duffy of Cari's Closet.
Rosanna Davison wore a dress from Cari's Closet to the European premiere of Lincoln. It was so popular the former Miss World will be picking up her IFTA dress there too.
"Colour wise, white and black lace will be big this year," Lisa says.
"A lot of ladies are requesting backless dresses in champagne, white and nude."
"People want something glam," Limerick designer Marion Murphy Cooney says. "But something timeless."
Last year, Marion dressed winner Love/ Hate star Denise McCormack. "She was 8 months pregnant at the time and about to burst," Marion said.
"We went for a lace dress in French navy."
But Fair City's Aoibhinn Garrihy will be going for an edgier look.
Her dress will be designed by Irish designer Emma Manley, known for her leather-studded tops.
