Ellison bloodied after kicking herself in head with ice skate
FORMER Brookside actress Jennifer Ellison was left bloodied and in shock after kicking the back of her head with a skate during Dancing On Ice.
The 28-year-old was given medical treatment after the accident on last night's show.
Fitness guru Rosemary Conley was eliminated after admitting that the other competitors were "really raising their game".
Skier Chemmy Alcott was saved by all three judges following the skate-off.
Host Phillip Schofield told ITV1 viewers that Ellison had "a little bit of shock" after suffering her injury.
She appeared emotional in footage which showed her receiving medical treatment for a head wound.
Ellison's skating partner Daniel Whiston said the accident occurred as she attempted a kick.
"At the end of the routine Jen does a scorpion kick. She threw her leg really high and the heel of her skate has gone into the back of her head."
He added: "Her whole hair was just red because obviously the heart's pumping and a lot of blood's come out."
The professional ice-skater described her as a "trouper" and praised her for finishing the routine. "Everyone cares about her very much, including me, so she will be okay," he said.
Ellison, who wore a sizzling red outfit for the Valentine's Day-themed show, was scored 19 out of 30 by the judges, but she was off-screen receiving treatment when the results were announced.
Robin Cousins revealed that his fellow judge Katarina Witt warned in rehearsals that "she's got to be careful".
He said: "As a dancer the last thing she would think about would be what's on the end of her boot."
Next week's show will feature the contestants dancing solo. Two celebrities will leave the show.
