Elle orders hopefuls to cover up in Model show
Underwear tycoon Elle Macpherson ordered hopefuls to cover up during filming of her Next Top Model series.
The supermodel, who earned the nickname The Body for her swimwear shoots, felt uncomfortable about the wannabes flashing their flesh.
She acted after auditions for Sky Living's Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model had involved the contestants appearing half-naked.
Macpherson, host and executive producer on the show, thought it was unfair that the girls were being asked to appear in next to nothing.
Viewers will see contestants at the Glasgow audition parade in front of judges in skimpy bikinis and underwear, while those in London strut their stuff in their own clothes.
"We started off putting girls in bathing suits and when I saw the first lot come in I just was like, 'I can't do this to them, it's not fair'," Elle said.
"I'm really interested in the whole, the personality of the girl, and often that's projecting in the way they dress and it just felt inappropriate."
