Don't call me a WAG insists Hayley -- I'm swotting for degree

She's one of Dublin's leading models and has just scored herself a footballer boyfriend -- but Hayley Ryan is adamant she won't be battling it out with Claudine Palmer for the title of Ireland's top WAG.

The leggy brunette, who has been dating hunky Irish soccer player Sean St Ledger for six months, is determined to keep her romance under the radar and claims she's the polar opposite of a stereotypical footballer's girlfriend.

"I won't be discussing anything about that (her relationship with St Ledger). I don't want to be known for that.

"I'm definitely nothing like a WAG. No," she laughed.

In fact, rather than frequenting the city's trendiest hotspots like many of her model pals, Hayley says she usually has her head stuck in the books as she is currently in her second year of a business degree at DCU.

The Assets beauty, familiar to many as the model who appears on the opening credits of TV3's Xpose, admits she has barely left the library in recent weeks as she has been swotting up ahead of her first semester exams this week.

And despite regularly donning a bikini for her various modelling shoots, Hayley believes she will have no problem shedding her image as one of the country's best known photocall queens to make it to the top in the cut-throat world of business.

According to the ambitious model: "I think everyone knows that modelling is just a job at the end of the day and I don't think I will be stereotyped.

"Of course, we do hear that all sorts of stories have been written about us but you have to just laugh it off. You can't take it to heart, it just comes with the territory.

"I think it will work to my advantage in the future and it's great for me now because modelling is very flexible so I can take time off to study when I need to like now or for the next few days when I sit my exams.

"Assets are great about it as long as you give them enough notice," she added.

To celebrate the end of her exams, Hayley will jet to Austria next week to enjoy a snow-boarding holiday with a number of gal pals. The Malahide native will also be celebrating the fact that she and her Assets colleagues Louise Kavanagh and Nadia Forde have just made their acting debut in a new Lynx ad campaign.

The trio flew to London earlier this month to record footage alongside one of Britain's top glamour models, Keeley Hazell, The Inbetweeners' Blake Harrison and Mike Fielding, better known as Naboo from The Mighty Boosh.

Hayley along with Nadia and Louise have now been crowned the official Lynx Mixes of 2010.
