Former Miss World Rosanna Davison has revealed that her dad, Chris de Burgh (left), encouraged her to pose nude for Playboy magazine.

Speaking to Angela Scanlon as part her new RTE2 series, Full Frontal, Rosanna admitted that her parents had been very supportive about the shoot.

"It was him [Chris] that said to me, 'No you should go for it, you're not going to be young forever and you might not want to do this in ten years, so now is the time'.

"He was really encouraging and he just said 'Look at all the women who've done it before you... you should be really proud'," she told Angela.

However, she did admit that they never spoke about the pictures afterwards.

"I showed them to my mum, but as far as I'm concerned my dad has never seen them," she laughed.

"We never sat down and looked through the pictures or talk about the best pictures.

"I'm happy that I had that level of support because I probably wouldn't have done it if I hadn't," she added.

Rosanna also spoke to Life magazine about how posing for Playboy (inset left) helped her feel more empowered.

"Doing Playboy was so empowering, because I felt happy in my own skin, and baring my body like that forced me to face my own insecurities. I loved being naked for it.

"I also worked hard to get in shape for it, so I felt confident. The vast majority of women were extremely positive and supportive," she revealed.
