Could Twink or McGrath be Bill's next apprentice?

PANTO queen Twink and former footballer Paul McGrath are just two of the big names on the 'wish-list' for the new series of Celebrity Apprentice Ireland.

The Herald can reveal how producers of the series are busy drafting a list of well-known personalities they intend to approach to take part in the programme.

And an inside source has revealed how there's "no way" that they will resort to just using models and photocall girls.

"They're looking at all kinds of people but they're really keen to get a few sports people on board, personalities who are genuinely well known in Ireland," he said.

"Twink's name was also mentioned as she's always good entertainment value but they do intend on going for the slightly older crowd as they want people who would have strong personalities and also cop on."

TV3 will not screen another regular series of the entrepreneur show, fronted by Bill Cullen. Instead, it will make a celebrity version of the programme.

Series five will now see some 14 personalities being chosen to take part in the programme to show off their business acumen as they're faced with approximately eight different tasks.

Mentors Jackie Cullen and Brian Purcell will continue working on the new show, as will entrepreneur Bill.

Filming is due to start this summer but the new instalment is now in "pre-production".
