Coleen Rooney doesn't take kindly to being called a WAG

Wayne Rooney's wife says it is 'ludicrous' to lump all the wives of the top footballers together

Although her career as a television presenter, columnist and endorser of a variety of products might owe just a little something to the fact that she is married to Wayne Rooney, Coleen Rooney, pictured, does not take kindly to being called a WAG.

"I hate the term," she tells Mandrake of the tabloid newspapers' acronym for the wives and girlfriends of the nation's top footballers. "The idea that there is this club of us, and we all get together every now and again to talk about our husbands, is just ludicrous.

"It is silly to lump us all together like that. We are all just individuals who get on and do our own thing, and we deserve to be treated as individuals."
