Charlotte Church, the singer, and Gavin Henson, the Wales rugby international, have split just weeks after announcing their engagement, it is reported.
The couple, who have two children and have been together for five years, are understood to have agreed to separate.
A report in the News of the World said the Welsh singer and television presenter, 24, had already agreed the terms of the split from Mr Henson, 28, with her keeping their £1.2m (€1.4m) home in Wales.
The news, which has not yet been confirmed, comes six weeks after the couple announced their engagement in a spread in OK! Magazine.
However, the pair were recently spotted having an argument at the bar of a London hotel.
Mr Henson, who is contracted to south Wales rugby union team Ospreys but who has been on leave amid faltering form, is on holiday in Los Angeles.
Miss Church recently returned to television with a role in the BBC One series Over the Rainbow.
The newspaper said Mr Henson would find a house nearby so he can regularly visit their children, Ruby, two, and Dexter, one.
A source told the newspaper: “It is an incredible sad state of affairs. Both Gavin and Charlotte are deeply distraught.
“But after a lot of soul-searching, they realised this is the best course of action for them and the children. It was a mutual decision.”
