Celebs join 30s' first-time mums' club

What might a coupled-up thirtysomething beauty have at the top of their wish list? -- well, a baby of course! Our clutch of first-time mums with fabulous careers and personal wealth proves that the next move for a woman in her 30s is a bundle of joy.

It's reported that Kate Middleton's due date will be confirmed by Buckingham Palace when the Duchess of Cambridge hits the 12-week mark.

We all expected Kate (30) to provide an heir this year, after all, having a baby is in her job description. Yet it's Kim Kardashian (32) who best epitomises the alpha beauty who lives hard and fast, and ticks the boxes furiously.

This self-made millionaire and reality TV star has only bagged herself mega-successful rapper Kanye West and she is all set to become his 'baby mama'.


Actress Amy Huberman (33) and rugby player Brian O'Driscoll (33) revealed the joyous news in October that their first child is on the way. Amy is already a national treasure given her genuine warmth, while her talent as an actress and author, of two bestselling chicklit books, is undisputed.

Similarly Jenna Bush Hager (31), daughter of former American president George W Bush, will give the former president and his wife Laura their first grandchild in the spring.

Heavily pregnant UK DJ Fearne Cotton (31) went on maternity leave just before Christmas, in preparation for having her first child with boyfriend Jesse Wood.

Things are also about to change for mega successful pop star Shakira (35) who is due soon and has been nesting at home with her beau, Spanish sportsman Gerard Pique.

Dutch model Lara Stone came in eight on the Forbes top-earning models list last year. Aged 29, she is due her first child in a few months with her comedian husband and X Factor judge David Walliams. Though at age 41, maybe it was Walliams who pushed for a baby to balance out his stellar career with a solid family life.

Meanwhile The Rock of Ages star and actress Malin Akerman (34) could be said to have finally made her mark in Hollywood in recent years.

Now her career is well underway, she is expecting her first child with husband Roberto Zincone and has said that she's been taking it easy and not stressing over impending motherhood.
