Cecelia stays home as David heads to LA in hunt for fame

Cecelia Ahern's husband has denied the couple could be quitting the country, despite his trip to LA.

David Keoghan, who married the millionaire author at a top-secret ceremony last summer, will spend the next month trying to crack Hollywood.

The Diary can reveal how the former athlete is heading to LA to pursue a number of big-screen projects.

However, David (32) is adamant they won't be bidding adieu to Ireland anytime soon, explaining that the high-profile couple have no interest in moving to Tinseltown permanently.

The ambitious Dubliner, who previously starred in hit series The Tudors, says he has a number of acting roles in the pipeline.

"Acting is my career now... it's all going well," he told the Diary.

"I've a few things on the go. I'm not allowed talk about anything that is coming up so I can't say -- plus it's bad luck so I never do.

"I'm going over in February for a month to LA. I've been a couple of times and worked there in the past. I wouldn't go permanently though, I like Ireland," he laughed.

In fact, the aspiring screen-star is so fond of the Emerald Isle that he and his other half are currently on the lookout for a new home in the upmarket suburb of Malahide.

The couple live in Abbotts Hill at present but are said to have viewed the swanky Louise Kennedy-designed houses in Streamstown Lane and other mansions near the village.

The couple were also spotted viewing a property in the plush Abington estate, which is home to Cecelia's sister Georgina and her hubby, Westlife star Nicky Byrne, as well as David's close pal Ronan Keating.

David was among those who stepped out to the Marie Keating Foundation annual luncheon at Leopardstown racecourse yesterday in order to support his popstar pal Ronan and his family.

The proud dad attended the glitzy event alongside a number of male pals, explaining that Cecelia had opted to stay at home with their one-year-old daughter Robin.

"Cecelia's at home with Robin. We were out on Saturday night so she's taking it easy. It's a lads' day.

"Robin's great. I'm enjoying being a dad it's brilliant, I love it. Best hobby I've ever had," he added.
