Caroline keeps up long distance romance with new beau Daithi

FORMER RTE star Caroline Morahan (33) may have left these shores to start a fresh new life in LA. But the Herald can reveal how the ex Off The Rails star has exported one crucial part of her old life in Ireland -- her romance with banker Daithi O Caoimh.

The presenter-turned-actress has kept her relationship with the Kerry native going strong as she continues trying to carve out a movie career for herself in LA.

The pair were spotted hanging out together in an Irish bar in Hollywood last Sunday as they joined some fellow revellers to watch all the excitement of the Oscars on the big screen.

"There was a bit of a party for all the Irish people over in LA for the Oscars so they came in together to check it out but they didn't stay too long," said a source.

Dubliner Caroline has been dating Daithi since late 2007 and the pair are clearly in it for the long haul, given that it has survived her relocating to the far side of America.

The TV star was home earlier this month for the Irish Film and TV Awards, the same event she hosted in February 2008, but was keeping her cards close to her chest when it came to future projects.

Since the summer of 2009, she has been permanently based in LA after deciding she wanted to pursue her desire to become an actress and went down several dress sizes after her move to America.

The former RTE presenter also came back to Ireland in January 2010 to film the Cosmetic Surgery Show for TV3, alongside Hollywood surgeon Dr Robert Rey.

And she said that Dr Rey spoke to her about potential cosmetic surgery after inquiring whether her lips were naturally so full. "He did advise me to inject Botox into my forehead, but I was like, 'Eh thanks, but you're alright'," she said.

"I don't have a problem with lines and anyway, I want to be an actor, and have the ability to express my emotions on my face.

"Thankfully, he didn't tell me I needed to be lipo-ed."

She is now on the books of the Abrams Artist Agency who have described her as: "Angelina Jolie with natural warmth and irresistible Irish charm".
