Carlton Houise celebrates fifth birthday

wwwLAVISH Kildare hotel Carton House will be celebrating its fifth birthday this weekend.

The four-star hotel will host a special invite-only event on Friday to mark its birthday celebrations -- and will also be throwing a massive Halloween bash. The award-winning venue's Masquerade Ball will see Dublin's top VIPs celebrate the bank holiday in costume.

Guests will be treated to complimentary drinks upon arrival.

wwwTOP Dublin nightclub the Wright Venue has won the Nightclub Of The Year award for the second year running.

The Swords venue took the title at The National Hospitality Awards last night. The venue has played host to Usher, DJ Roger Sanchez, Superbad star Christopher Mintz and the dance crews of Britney Spears and Rihanna.

wwwSnow Patrol will be marking their much-anticipated return to the stage with an intimate gig next month. As apart of this year's Choice Music Prize, the band will host a very special performance at the Button Factory on November 1. Music-lovers will have the chance to bag two exclusive tickets through Meteor's social networking pages over the next two weeks.

wwwComedian Katherine Lynch will be taking her The Hack Of Ya Tour to the road next month.

Irish fans can catch her at Glor, Ennis, on November 19, Wexford Opera House on November 25, the Forum in Waterford on November 26, Vicar Street, Dublin, on December 2 and the INEC in Killarney on December 10.

Katherine will then make a return to Dublin at The Helix on December 16 and TLT in Drogheda on December 17.

wwwDUBLINERS will be preparing to trick or treat this weekend. Irish Premature Babies, supported by Mothercare Ireland, will host their inaugural Halloween Ball on Saturday night.

The association will be holding a fancy dress Halloween bash on Saturday in Harcourt Street haunt Dtwo.

All funds raised from the event will go towards buying incubators for the three Dublin neo-natal units in the Rotunda, National Maternity Hospital Holles Street and the Coombe Women and Infants' University Hospital. Tickets are priced at €25.
