Career, motherhood and study, Ruth is doing it all

YUMMY mummy Ruth Griffin is the first to admit that juggling motherhood with a career is a tough grind.

On top of all that the mother-of-one is completing a business degree.

The model is a single mum to son AJ (3) after splitting with husband, former rugby international player Alan Quinlan, two years ago.

So how does she manage a career, being a mum and studying?

"It's still really difficult to find the balance. I'm still trying to figure out how to make it work myself," she told the Diary

"It's hard to know what to say to other mothers out there trying to get the balance right because I really don't know. All I would say is that mothers shouldn't be too hard on themselves, which they often are. We can only do our best."

As well as dealing with the day to day strains of being a mother, Ruth added that her college work it taking its toll.

The gorgeous brunette is currently studying a business masters at UCD's Smurfit Business School.

"I am really enjoying college but it's really stressful. I love the course but it is really challenging. I'm good at some subjects and I'm finding others more difficult. But I just got some results back and I was happy.

"But even though it's stressful I have to say it's really nice to have a focus in my life. I'm graduating in 2013 and it's something to look forward to all the time. Hopefully I will do well at the end of it," she said.

After finishing her masters Ruth hopes to start a new career. But despite still finding it hard to juggle everything in her life, she is glad to still be modelling.

From press calls to fashion shows, the mum is sworking all the time. Ruth attributes her success to her pal and model agent Andrea Roche.

"I'm really happy with the modelling and working with Andrea is great. It's so important to me that I'm super organised all the time, and with Andrea there is never any problem.

"She knows being a mother is so important and she is really aware of that," she explained.

Ruth made the comments while promoting this year's Annual Spring Cleaning Campaign, joined by models Sarah McGovern and Sinead Noonan, who wore dresses made out of rubbish.

But don't count on Ruth having time to do her own spring cleaning anytime soon. "I will definitely try to get it done, I like to do a spring clean, it's so nice to de-clutter but I don't know if I have the time," she laughed.
